Interview with Nas

Behind this esoteric and weird name there’s a great Australian black/thrash band. After reading some interviews I became really interested in getting in touch with Camazotz, not only to talk about SoL, but to discuss about some other interesting topics. Here’s what he said. . .

I would like you to talk about/introduce your band, as it was totally unknown for me...

We are a metal band from Brisbane, Australia. current line up is Camazotz-guitarz vox, Griffiths-drums vox, Hugh-bass vox, BJ-vox orator.

You or any of your members were/are involved in previous/other bands?

Camazotz only does SOL, Griffiths has helped out that many bands it's not funny. I think Hugh has recorded a couple of trax of his own but never released them. BJ has done "Honour Guard" in the past.

It's nearly impossible to get your stuff here in Europe, as the German "Burznag" closed down didn't it?, where can people write to buy something from the band?? is all sold out?

As far as I know it is all sold out. Now you will have to get in touch with Vinland Winds in USA to get the new album "The Yoga Of National Socialism" when it's pressed, or you could get in touch with "Death To Mankind" in Spain who will be re-releasing the "Nazi Occult Metal" demo and the "Nada Brahma" CD on the one vinyl , also some new shirts will be available through them.

Aussie scene is one of my favourites (as it can be demostrated in this issue), I would like you to give me your oppinion about it... it seems there is other point of view of metal, not only for the war-like own style it has been developed, but also the aesthetics... what do you think?

Personally speaking I'm not in touch with the scene any longer so I can't really say, I do my own thing nowaday's more than ever.

Almost all people from there which I have got in touch has mentioned SOL as one of the most worthful bands, are you very in touch with many people about there? got a good relationship with them?

SOL and other's of such ilk follow a different path entirely, so there really is very little contakt between "us and them" so to speak.

I can't help refering the name of your band... I understand the meaning of Spear of Longinus as the weapon who killed Jesuschrist in the cross, why did you choose this name, and which other interpretations do you have for the name of the band?

Currently I'm working on the conexxion with the jinn states as in the astral and such so you could maybe say SPEAR OF LONJINNU'S there is much work to be done here. I won't go into the other stuff suffice to say it is all geared towards evolution of the solar superman, and how we must look to ancient high cultures to secure the path to ascend.666.

I've seen in some interviews that you're very interested in subjects like Mythology, Mysticism, Occultism... am I right? which subjects did I forget? I wouldn't dare to discuss with you of some subjects because I don't have a personal point of view as they don't interest me so much... but, how would you describe yourself and which ideas have influenced you in life? having said this, and coming back to the previous question... what's your oppinion about Christianism and the character of Jesus?

The state of Jesus is indeed a complicated one, and if you investigate enough you may well find that your opinion eventually differs from that which you started with, but one things for sure, is, that I've entirely left behind the empty/ego rebellion against the Christianity as there is no evolution to be found there beyond the initial gateway smashing of ignorance. Yes all these things interest me, one you did leave out is the martial arts. Especially the esoterik gradees.

Which martial art are you more interested in?

Currently I study Supreme Pole Fist (tai chi chuan) which I see as a remnant of the once global aryan high culture of Atlantis or maybe mu, certainly it was practiced by the elder gods of Sumer. I also practice Iaido, the same goes for that as well as the Yoga I practice, Ashtanga.

I also would like you to comment something about the meaning NationalSocialism for you and the symbol of the Swastika, I´m refering to this concerning the title of your first demo Nazi Occult Metal, and the use of this symbol in the logo, and as far as I know it does not have the common meaning that anyone could give it, doesn't it? Related to this, the Spear of Longinus is also an important item in the occult side of nazism during II WW, as Hitler believed in the power of the Spear to conquer the world... (in fact, I think he found a Spear which belonged to Charlemagne, Justinian or Constantin, for example... other great conquerors). Curiously, among the Russian archives it is said, that the Spear had been stolen 1 hour before Hitler commited suicide... so, there ! is quite complex history behind this icon (which I didn't know, and I became interested, when I was preparing this interview)... so, I would like to add more info, interpretations to this... the meaning for you, or if this legend means something else for you...

Maybe you could look beyond the physicle spear and look to what may be alluded to in the tale of the spear through allegory. Swastika is energy/evolution, just as NS is material tool to be used in material/spiritual thrust of evolution. This will result in the coming solar man. The superman. The man who has overcome.

So physically, the symbol of the spear does not have any meaning for you, despite you'd consider it less important?

Definately less important. It's what it stads for that is important. Physicly it is a spear, a weapon of war. Esoterikly it could also be the spinal shaft, kundalini rising. The great evolutionery thrust. Just as a gun killed JFK, what is more important the gun, or the act it self? and why, whats the esoterik agenda behind it all?

How is the future for Spear of Longinus... do you think our fate is already written?

To a certain extent for sure, but "will" can create and overcome all that may have arisen from the past or present conditions. so I guess "work" is the future.

Any plans for future releases? are you working in new stuff? any offer from labels?

We're just waiting for the art to be completed on our new LP "The Yoga Of National Socialism" to be released by Vinland Winds in the USA. Then we have a re-release on vinyl of the Nazi Okkult metal demo & the Nada Brahma CD on the one vinyl, along with a new shirt for that one. Out on Death to Mankind from Spain. To be followed by a meta-metal piece for a Fenris Wolf Comp. in the USA, then maybe start work on the ancient noise LP. Also a couple of gigs for live torment.
