Interview with Camazotz / Spear Of Longinus.
1. Hails, Camazotz!!! What's up at the moment in Spear Of Longinus camp, what have you been doing recently?!?
 Just the usuall for me, training, study, work, meditating etc. griffiths is in europe at the moment. hugh has spent some time down in tasmania and, bj, has recently become a father. life goes on, as they say.

2. Can you give us a brief history of Spear Of Longinus. ( How and when it was formed, lineups, albums).
 92/93 was the formation date i believe after griffiths and camazotz split from Equimanthorn for artistik and ideologikle reasoning.this line did the "nazi occult metal " demo. then we got ss death dealer + tumulto in the column for the "domni satnasi" lp. tumulto left for ideologikle reasoning, i believe. leaving the triumvirate to record the " nada brahma " cd. camazotz concentrates on some okkult work for a while so ss death dealer does Vomitor. Hugh the terriable jumps up to bass deva-station. and bj assumes vokill-lies-ation, and general runik terror of sleepwalker's for the " the yoga of national socialism " lp. soon to be released on Vinlandwinds, in USA. whoops , thats actually incorrect. camazotz did record the vox for this lp, bj comes in after. so the present status report is camazotz- guitarz, throat chakra, fx. griffiths- drumming, guitar, vox. hugh the mighty- bottom end , auzzie axecents. bj-vokills and signs of doom.

3. A inevitable question, what made you choose such a band name as Spear Of Longinus?
 it is the gnostik key. it is the tao of the terrifying fiery solar warrior. evolution.

4. Before SOL, you played in Equimanthorn. Explain the differences between these two bands.
 musik is not much different, Equimanthorn was just a cover band for that period of time when everybody had forgotton the elder ways, b4, the second coming, as it were. we did have a couple of our own trax, but the guitarust at the time really had no idea what it was all about.it was not a life thing for him.it was around this time that the energy flux arrived and the superior atomik structure started assimilation with our present inferior genetik molecules. the path to the superman became apparent. ride the sky. really, i was almost told to do SOL. the runes had spoken.

5. Which are your main influences ? And what are the musicians that inspired you the most?
 really, my taste in musik is quite eclectik, i like all kinds of stuff. there are some very fine strains of musik out there. but the origional thrust came from the old ones ( who were quite young ) up till say the first bolthrower and morbid angel lp's. then it all turned to shit really. the fire had died. lucifer was no longer in command. enter the materialist pig's. i can only say that the main influence is gnostik in nature. or, bhuddhist or pagan or national socialist. whatever terminology you resonate with. so we will say, the the old ones in this case to be possessed, frost, bathory, sodom, led zep, kiss, the angels, ac/dc and sabbath etc.

6.What was the main reason for forming SOL as a band? Are you trying to pass any kind of message/philosophy?
 sol is just a pale reflection of the work we are pursuing. that is the task of evolution and self mastery. the liberation . astral un furlment. death of the inferior human. self realisation. we are looking for the cosmik threads, the runik path. take no prisoners. we will pass on what we can, and hope fully work with and learn from/with others of the cult and caste of the superman.

7. Are you satisfied with "The Yoga of National Socialism"? How are the divulgation and reception of your CD ?
 it should have had more song's that mised out on inclusion because we had alot of trouble in the studio. the laws of resistance are strong, for those who, will, to leave the planetary system, terrestrial prison. to enter the galactik heirarchy. which is a real pity as now the title can only be " the yoga of national socialism " instead of the whole concept of " the lotuswastika and the yoga of national socilism ". but , yeah the lp is ok, maybe a little different than some previous material, but not much. it still is not released as we are waiting for the the art to be finished.

8. What elements are going to be different for this release as compared to the older material ?
 i don't see anthing as being "different", but hopefully there is something "more" there. it would be pretty pointless just to repeat you're self for ever. thats not revolution OR evolution.

9. How are your shows ? And your performance on stage ? What were the most memorable shows that you played ?
 we try to use some cool things like flags and stuff, you know keep it pretty dark. at the last one bj started waving a sword about and did a libation, he also did a tribute to guido the runik master. if we had money we would do more but we don't , so we don't. it sorta depends on the vibe of the times. some times a little more spartan and hc in style some times all out hell attack. in this way maybe we can explore our psychology's a little more, instead of being stuck in this " we do this " type of mentality. i'd really like to incorporate a kind of brechtian play into the performance some day........ but's thats alot of work to do properly.

10. What do you want to express or pass in your songs ?
 all kinds of things, but alot of it's quite selfish too, in that it is just a process to get things out and then to work with it and evolve. evolution is an endless process, so too would be our subject matter. though most of it does tend to come out quite obscure.

11. What more inspire you in the lyrics-writing process ? Any personal experiences ?
 i suppose it would all have to be from personal experience if it was written by me wouldn't it ?but, the others do write lyrik as well. so that would be their experience. my lyrik's appear very spontaneously. i never sit down with the intention of writing a lyrik.

12. What your purpose with SOL ? Individual realization ? Is it purely musical to you, or ideology ?
 well thats a very deep question my friend. as i said b4 the absolute prime objective of SPEAR OF LONGINUS is overcoming and evolution. this the process of self realization. so in that way it is purely ideology. but.as in the masonik and zen traditions art and trade are the material path to expanding the concioussness. then you have the aspect of the verb, or, word. which is sound. nada brahma.the world is vibration. at this point we will call that for me, musik. to be at one with........ and thru....... the musik. this is what you are talking about when we say that such and such is a great "player" or in the traditional sense " composer" but it dosen't have to be these western concepts. but the " word" also is not only sound as we know it. it is the profound concept, the mechanicle process of revolutionery evolution. the occult science. alchemy. you will take this to the point and beyond that of us sharing the very atomik particles and space of "all" ,1 is 10 is 1.

13. How do you view the Australian metal scene these days?
 i have next to nothing to do with it. it appears no stronger than when i was very involved .

14. I'll tell you words/names and you'll give me your thoughts about it... ok?  Charles Darwin- i've not actually read his stuff, and i don't think many people really have, to give good analysis.but he was probably onto something, especially if you go past just a material angle. possibly in a psychologikle sense. one things for sure. the human structure has been around much much longer than the mainstream ,or, bible literalist's would have it.
 Unabomber- ? whats that , enlighten us.
 THULE- when you have reduced the lead to gold, then , to cosmik dust. you will be able to travel beyond the northern lights to ...... THULE.

15. Who are some of your fave bands on the scene right now and who are the best newcomers?
 hmmm....... which scene ? alter of perversion, ouroboros,........ fux me.

16. How do you spend your spare time? Hobbies, interests?  my spare time is just that, spare, it's not being used. there's fuck all of that though. i put every minute into the great work, that is how it must be. i practice yoga, iaido, meditation, rites, tai chi, work full time, band stuff, study etc etc.

17. What books and movies would you consider essential ?  none really, it is much more important to master the tekniques of pranayama and meditation for example. work with the runes. or enter into a craft/ martial art in the fullest esoterik sense and work like this. work with the world but apart from it.all the answer's come from within the space within, great space. this is the way of the old world. the eldritch.

 plod along and do our thing.
