INTRODUCTION TO RUNIK ESOTERIKS

Presented to the brethrn long long ago.

Very brief; yet worth the effort. We hope.

Runes it is true are most commonly known to us through the Norse/Germanik culture usually being associated with the more mundane realm of matters and general alternative/antient alphabet systems.

Being Warriorpriests though we are charged with gaining enlightenment through the hidden mysteriis of nature and science. So we will concentrate on the esoterik or okkult aspects of the runes and hopefully give a broad introduction to some tekniques of their utilisation in the awakening of consciousness. That way we can , make good men better, as it were. The path of heavenly science, even unto the throne of god himself........... and, the awakening of other facultys.

So, by taking this path we will be more or less bypassing the 'intellectual centre' to focus more on the 'heart/motor' and 'intuitive' centres. The 'human machine' having five centres in all. The two remaineing centres being the 'instinctive' and 'sexual'. Later on we may be able to find some time to study this in greater depth, as we all know there is no more noble work than the study of oneself .

Perhaps even, we could indulge in the tradition of 'flying scrolls' whereby the Brethren from time to time present papers to be circulated amongst themselves? A daily advancement in okkult knowledge. Or as the antients said, "know thyself".

Origins.

Runes are symbolism that represent universal cosmic structures.

They connect with the natural zodiac of creative energies, the periodic system of chemical elements, the world crystal and crystal structures in general, the musical scale and the system of numbers.

Runes are cosmic energies of creation that connect with the world crystal (matrix). As such we can see them as the basic elements of a mystical language that gives us access to the realms of creation. Runes allow us to participate in the acts of creating, re-creating (re-generating), and shaping of our destinies and the universe.

Each rune is a switch, or trigger, to a seed idea of the realms of creation. Such a seed idea helps us to connect the un-speakable realms of creation (the superior dimensions) with your own peculiar reality. To combine runes, to combine seed ideas, which we call bindrunes means to creatively act upon yourself.

You can draw or visualise these symbols, the symbol of the world crystal is the hexagon with the three inscribed diameters. If you look at a regular quartz crystal from the top you will see this structure. Each Rune fits neatly into this symbol of the world crystal.

Runes date from the first age of humanity, of which there are seven, of which we are currently the fifth, attesting to their primal power. The seven ages or races being "the sons of the first sun" who lived in the primigenial Earth, more than 300 million years ago in the protoplasmic earth. It is said that they were 'devoured by the tigers', because the 'Protoplasmic Men', were the sons of wisdom. The Protoplasmic man had gelatinous bodies, they were ductile, elastic; they could assume gigantic proportions, or reduce themselves to a mathematical point. They were Androgynous, reproduction was in the same form as the reproduction of cells: by cellular division. They were devoured by the tigers? yes, the wisdom.

Hyperboreans, the "sons of the second sun" were destroyed by huge hurricanes. The Hyperboreans had Androgynous bodies, but something less gelatinous, more gaseous. They transformed themselves into monkeys. That is to say they degenerated and died.

Lemurians "the sons of the third sun". These were gigantic hermaphrodites, as we see in the representations in Tula. Reproduction was by germination. The 'sons of the second sun' reproduced themselves by an oviparous system, but the 'sons of the third sun, , by gemmation. Those hermaphrodites had ovulation, the ovule escaped their ovaries and arrived already fertilised.

The fact that they were Hermaphrodites invites us to think. The breasts of man are atrophied mammary glands ; the clitoris in the woman is an atrophied phallus covered with nerves and ligaments. So, in the human organisms we can see the testimony that one day the human race was hermaphrodite. However, through millions of years, that race was divided into opposite sexes. Some creatures began to be born with a sex more developed than the other and the day came when appeared the unisexual creatures.

Then it was necessary for sexual cooperation in order to create. By that epoch, in Lemuria, the sexual act was sacred and was only done as a sacrament inside the Temples of Mysteries. It was another age, humanity was not yet degenerated.

It is said the 'sons of the third sun' transformed themselves into birds. That is they mastered the Fourth Vertical. The Fourth Dimension.

'Sons of the fourth sun' the Atlanteans, our predecessors, perished by the actions of water. Swallowed by the oceans. This is all too well known to go into here.

Our present age, the fifth, that of the Aryan, is said to meet its end through fire and earthquakes. Here it would seem to be a direct reference to potent energies and their misuse, for example the current global warming phenomena etc. It is not hard to imagine how easily atomic reactions both military and domestic could trigger such effects. Everything has been altered.

There are of course two remaining ages of humanity in this cycle completing the septenary.

Now it is time to introduce ourselves to some ways to apply the Runes in effecting a change to our situation under the sun; verily, to escape the wheel of samsara/karma.

APPLICATION ASPECTS.

Vibration.

Each Rune has a name, word, or sound. In order to work with the energies of any rune we must intone that frequency.

Assume the position of the Rune, this could alternatively be done in a meditational asana utilising the appropriate hand mudras. Sign.

These postures are the basis for a powerful Rune Yoga. In connection with a Runic Hermetic Medecine, Runes are a powerful tool for healing on all levels including cakras (balancing) etc.

Breath in deeply through the nostrils, imagining the name of the rune entering with the breath. Unite the though, word and deed.

Let the name descend slowly from the lungs to the heart, the solar plexus, the navel, the generative organs, and so to the feet.

The moment the magnetic tone appears to touch the feet, imagine the word rushing up and through the body. This may be done in cycles, as per pranik breathing.

It is a sign the student is performing this correctly when one single 'vibration' entirely exhausts his physical strength. It should cause him to grow hot all over, or to perspire violently, and it should so weaken him that he will find it difficult to remain standing.

This is when you should hear the word, and find that in between state the Druids refer to.

In addition to this each Rune also has a poem or STAV attached to it which operates in the same way as that of a Zen koan. To lead us to the secret of that Rune.

Pathworking.

Pathworking is when you profoundly meditate on a Rune to gain 'divine inspirations', as Odhin hung on the world tree for 9 days and nights, to finally reach the knowledge of the Runes, so can you gain these transformations. Illuminations.

For example a very vivid Pathworking I once worked on the Rune MAN, or LIFE..

During this working I found myself travelling at a VERY high speed through some form of light tunnel or other. On arrival at the three way junction of the rune it was not immediately apparent to me in which direction to proceed, I then began to 'spin' uncontrollably in inreasing velocity 'till I was thrown out of what would appear to be by all accounts in todays scientific nomenclature, a 'wormhole'.

Pathworking indeed!

I hypothesise this to be an aspect of Ginnungagap, the Norse 'Void', the (a) dimension where our current tri dimensional 'laws' or 'limitations' are in fact void.

The same Enochian (starpaths) travelled by Osiris?

Godforms.

Runes naturally enough have their associations to what we call 'godforms', or how to access the principals of these regions.

The method here is somewhat similar to the vibration of the Rune's 'word', though we do in addition have to make as complete a study of the 'deity' in question so we can completely become, through visualisation , the deity in question. Hence we 'aquire' some of the finer aspects or faculties associated with that godform, eventually leading to a more complete being, with less defects.

It is helpful to study all the liberal art we can to do this properly, and sciences for that matter.

Martial.

To complement the abstract or 'spiritual' side of the Runes we have the STAV system of martial art. Incorporating the traditional European battle axe and cudgel weaponry etc., as well as unarmed method, Stav utilises 5 principles and 16 stances.

Most genuine Rune systems stick to a 15 form, as this relates to the elements harmoniously.

Stav also incorporates a very nice sun salute pattern for those enthusiasts.

Todays Stav(ik?) system comes to us from Ivar Hafskjold the 44th Lord of Hafskjold, a family which has preserved, developed and transmitted the art and wisdom of the Vikings since 800ad to the present. Ivar learned the art of Stav, the core teachings of Viking wisdom from his family. Later he spent 14 years in Japan testing the principles of Stav with the finest Japanese masters. He now has settled in Brittain where he is the Chief instructor of the International Stav Association.

Divivnation.

This is a rather complex one and we've been here for some time. Since this topic really gets us into the territory of karma, recurrence & returns ( the secrets of space time travel, the release of consciousness itself! ), as well as other restrictive cosmik laws, I think we will leave here to carry on some other time.
